Takoma Park Fall Events
Takoma Park Farmers Market
Date: Every Sunday, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Laurel Avenue and Carroll Avenue
Kickstart your fall weekends in Takoma Park by visiting the renowned Farmers Market. Explore fresh produce, artisanal foods, handmade crafts, and more from local vendors. Support local businesses while enjoying the autumn atmosphere and the fruits of the summer.
Takoma Park Street Festival

Takoma Park Folk Festival
Date: Sunday, October 22nd, 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Location: Takoma Park Middle School
Celebrate Takoma Park's diverse culture at the Folk Festival. Immerse yourself in folk music, dance performances, international cuisine, and cultural exhibitions. It's a family-friendly event that embodies our city's global spirit.
Takoma Park Monster Bash 2023
Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023, 1:00 – 4:00 PM
Location: Takoma Park Middle School Parking Lot, 7611 Piney Branch Rd, Takoma Park, MD 20912. Parading down Philadelphi hi a Ave., Culminating event on Maple (from Philadelphia to Lee Ave)
Starting in the late summer, the Takoma Park Recreation Department staff starts preparing for the Monster Bash to include a host of events that are designed for the entire family. The Monster Bash event normally kicks off at 1:00 PM with dancing and fun, followed by the Costume Parade and Contest and we will end the festivities with the Costume Award Ceremony and Celebration.
Fall Foliage Hike
Date: Saturday, November 5th, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Sligo Creek Park
Discover the beauty of fall with a guided hike through Sligo Creek Park. Witness the vibrant colors of autumn leaves and connect with nature in a tranquil setting.
Takoma Park Art Hop
Date: Saturday, November 12th, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Location: Various Art Galleries
Immerse yourself in the thriving arts scene during the Takoma Park Art Hop. Local galleries open their doors to showcase talented artists' work. It's a perfect opportunity to appreciate and purchase unique pieces of art.

Boo at the Zoo
Date: October 20-22, 6pm to 830pm

It’s no trick, only the sweetest treat: Boo at the Zoo, Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute’s beloved family-friendly Halloween event.
Hill-O-Ween
Date: October 27, 5pm to 8pm
Location: Eastern Market
Get ready for a spine-tingling adventure at Hilloween, the ultimate community event that delivers extra-spooky thrills and shriek-inducing excitement for families and kids of all ages.
The Great Pumpkin Race & Fall Festival
Date: October 14
Location: 20125 Arrowhead Rd., Montgomery Village
An autumnal competition where people race decorated pumpkins. Before the race at 1 PM, savor snacks from food vendors, visit a petting zoo, enjoy carnival rides, and listen to live music. Admission is free.
Fall Festival at Oxon Hill Farm
Date: October 21
Location: 1967 Bald Eagle Rd., Oxon Hill
Dive into a festival packed with special events, including scarecrow building, yoga sessions in the apple orchard, and square dancing. There's no cost to attend, but some activities require day-of registration at the farm.
Fall Fun Fest at Gaver Farm
Date: Daily through October 31
Location: 5501 Detrick Rd., Mt. Airy
This Maryland farm offers classic fall activities, including a 7-acre corn maze, pumpkin and apple picking, gem mining, and hayrides. Some activities, such as apple picking, are limited to weekends. Tickets range from $13 to $20.25.
Fall Fest at Reston Farm Garden Market
Date: Weekends through October 29
Location: 10800 Baron Cameron Ave., Reston
Enjoy access to the petting zoo, unlimited games, bounce houses, and a train ride around the garden center. Adults can browse local produce and savor fresh apple cider or pumpkin donuts. Admission is $20 per child, plus $5 for each accompanying adult.
Fall Festival at Summers Farm
Date: Wednesday through Sunday until October 31
Location: 7503 Hollow Rd., Middletown
Children can enjoy more than 45 attractions, including a corn maze, outdoor games, and pumpkin picking. Admission ranges from $15.50 to $19.50. Catch the fireworks show on Friday or Saturday evenings.
Fall Festival at Montpelier Farms
Date: Running through November 5
Location: 1720 North Crain Hwy, Upper Marlboro
Ride giant slides, feed farm animals, explore a themed corn maze, and experience a flashlight maze after dark. Tickets start at $14.
Fall Fest at Leesburg Pumpkin Village
Date: Open through November 5
Location: 19246 James Monroe Hwy, Leesburg
Discover Pumpkinville at Leesburg Animal Park, featuring wagon rides, moon bounces, pedal carts, a hay maze, and live entertainment on weekends. Admission starts at $17.95.
Trail of Jack-O-Lanterns at Green Meadows Petting Farm
Date: Weekends from October 7 to October 28 (after 5:30 PM)
Location: 10102 Fingerboard Rd., Ijamsville
Explore the Trail of Jack-O-Lanterns, featuring carved pumpkins, s'mores, and nighttime hayrides. Daytime tickets are $16, and Trail of Jack-O-Lanterns tickets are $14.
Pumpkin Festival at Butler's Orchard
Date: Running through October 29
Location: 22222 Davis Mill Rd., Germantown
Explore the "corn pool," pick pumpkins, and jump in the hayloft. Tickets start at $10.
Wayside Farm Fun
Date: Open through October 29
Location: 5273 Harry Byrd Hwy, Berryville
Enjoy a massive 10-acre corn maze, racing pigs, pumpkin-smashing sessions, and more. Tickets start at $14, with separate admission for the pumpkin patch at $20 per family for one hour.
Autumn Fun at Shlagel Farms
Date: Weekends through October 29
Location: 12850 Shlagel Rd., Waldorf
Enjoy a straw maze, petting zoo, hayrides, pumpkin picking, and the chance to hold baby chicks. Tickets cost $11 per person.
Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Great Country Farms
Date: October 1 to October 31
Location: 34345 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont
Pick pumpkins, roast marshmallows, and cheer for your favorite pig at the 'Oinkintucky Derby.' Tickets range from $17 to $19.
Fall Festival at Blue Ridge Mountain Maze
Date: Weekends through November 5
Location: 462 Winery Ln., Roseland
Enjoy a bear-themed corn maze, giant slides, farm animals, pumpkin picking, and seasonal brews for adults. Admission starts at $13.
Fall Festival at Cox Farms
Date: Thursday through Monday until November 6, and Tuesday, November 7
Location: 15621 Braddock Rd., Centreville
Mine for gems, take hayrides, milk a cow, explore the corn maze, and ride down giant slides. Tickets range from $10 to $25 and must be purchased in advance online.
Fall Barnyard Adventures at Mary's Land Farm
Date: September 9-October 29
Location: 4979 Sheppard Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042
Mary’s Land Farm is open to fall visitors to enjoy the new Village for animal encounters and the Kid's Fun park.
Fall events at Clark's Elioak Farm
Date: various through November 5
Location: 10500 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042
Available daily: pumpkin patch, petting farm, hayrides, pony rides, cow train ride, Enchanted Express Train, Enchanted Forest attractions, play and picnic areas. Halloween costume parades from 11 AM and 2 PM October 28-29. Pumpkin catapult chucking November 4-5!
